At Brain Matters, we believe that effective evaluation and proper diagnosis lead to
effective treatment. Using the most advanced brain SPECT technology in existence, our participating clinicians are provided with an additional data set that assists in evaluating, properly diagnosing and treating brain related disorders. Armed with objective, diagnostic SPECT brain function data, clinicians are better equipped to treat their patients effectively and help them get better, faster.
World's most advanced Brain SPECT Gamma Camera
Brain Matters aids clinicians in evaluating a variety of brain related diseases and disorders through the use of the latest in SPECT brain function imaging technology. The company utilizes the NeuroSPECT QUAD™ Gamma Camera which is a fixed four headed SPECT imaging system. The use of this camera enables Brain Matters to be well positioned as the leading provider of high resolution brain SPECT imaging. Our dedicated SPECT brain imaging camera is able to obtain images of the brain with resolution comparable to a PET scan with far less radiation exposure and about half the cost. Compared to other SPECT cameras in existence today, the NeuroSPECT Quad™ has between 2 to 4 times better resolution.
Brain SPECT Imaging Traditional & Emerging uses
Brain Matters uses SPECT imaging for both traditional applications like stroke assessment, traumatic brain injury - TBI, Alzheimer's and dementia, and Seizure Localization as well as emerging, cutting edge applications in neurobehavioral medicine. Physicians are using SPECT brain imaging to supplement their traditional diagnostic techniques. SPECT imaging can demonstrate functional brain differences that correlate with various neurobehavioral disorders thus allowing both the clinician and the patient to "see" an empirical basis for the disorder. In conjunction with a comprehensive evaluation a high resolution brain SPECT scan can help identify : Attention Deficit Disorder - ADD / ADHD, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - OCD.
Helping Patients "see" how their brain is working
When patients can "see" that there is a physiological basis for their disorder, they tend to be more compliant with their treatment and they feel less stigmatized by the "mental illness" label. Through the use of the latest SPECT technology, a commitment to clinical excellence and clinical research, Brain Matters will be opening brain function imaging centers throughout the United States to serve a broad population base for brain disorders and diseases.
